Daddy Comes Home

Jackson came home in March... he's standing directly behind the guy the in middle of the front row... see him?  well... half of his face?  I didn't take the kids because the ceremony was at 3 or 4 in the morning and... well do you really need more of a reason?  So he had a friend spend the night.

The boys were totally overwhelmed by the surprise.  Coryn already had a surprise that morning by a visit from the tooth fairy (lost his first tooth at said friend's house the night before that) and we brought donuts for breakfast.  Both managed a dropped jaw before immediately running their mouths...  Coryn about the tooth and Carter saying "how did you make it in time?"

Jovey wasn't phased in the slightest...

It was a gorgeous day!  Perfect for baseball.

and a nap.  (or 3 :)  )

CoC

First pic of the whole family... and yes, Jovey is not happy. Coryn on the other hand is just showing his 'serious army face', he's thrilled that its a snow day and he gets to go to Dad's work!

Jackson took command last month, which of course is code for more responsibility, late hours, and no pay raise.

I got flowers, which the boys loved. Yellow for incoming, red for outgoing.

Ceremony (normally held outdoors but Jackson requested to be inside so we would be able to attend and its a good thing he did anyway because the night before had gotten down to -26 and was up to a balmy 10 at the time of the ceremony) involving marching and passing a flag in a circle... Jackson will have to get on and tell more about it himself.

Jackson (incoming), Col Helwig (BNC), Cpt Hacker (outgoing CC)

And speeches of course!

May FRG meeting

Mexican night at the FRG meeting... burritos, mariachi music, sombreros, and maracas.
The kids had fun dancing, playing the maracas, wearing the hats, and eating burritos... but their favorite thing was maraca wars!

They moved to the hall during the meeting, it was getting loud in there.
Yes, Carter fights too.

Its time to go.

Easter... sort of

Happy Easter! We attended three different parties and I only have shots from the base sponsored 'spring' party. This is the most Eastery picture I have. (I was in charge of part of the festivities at one and the other one happened so fast I wouldn't have been able to take pictures of egg hunting anyway)

Give him a cop car and he's a happy boy. He even got to push the siren buttons and talk on the loudspeaker... it was funny, he started out with "is anybody here?"
He also got to handle actual guns at the display set up, go figure, nothing says spring in the military like playing with guns.

He likes the big guns too, but they're "too big" aka, too heavy for him to hold by himself.

Here the kids are Easter afternoon, finally noticing their baskets the Easter Bunny left during church. This was about two seconds before I realized I had given red staining easily dropped food to Carter... he was quickly moved to the kitchen.

Other Feb Happenings

They finally finished the park! Here is the beautiful basketball court which took about a month to make (level, pour, destroy, level, pour, dry, clean, paint, paint, paint, paint, no really there are four different levels of paint on this) and but a few hours to be covered with rocks and bits of dirt from the 'green' that is yet to be grown grass. Kids love it.

505th Red and White Social, kids danced all night.

Isn't that a stunning suit? (Jax, do you recall who this is?)

After excercising at the gym, Coryn likes to sit and read the newspaper (really its about getting a smoothie, but he thought he'd look all grown up)

The last week of Feb was mostly consumed with AFAP, here is my FRTI group, we did awesome! Best delegate group ever.
