Water Safari!

Water Safari... strangest water park you'll find... half water park half carnival rides/storybook village (must be the 'enchanted forest' part) and it has its own circus show. It was supposed to be a warm day... but started out quite chilly, everyone 'wore' their towels around as we toured the section filled with storybook things like the pumpkin house from that mother goose rhyme and Pinocchio.

It did warm up enough to get in the water, and the boys had fun doing so. they even got to go on one of the big rides since we were there with our FRG group I volunteered to laze around with everyone's stuff and Jovey while they got in the water, etc.
Jovey is quite good at lazing... and hydrating.

Here's some of the ladies from our group...

Jovey really enjoyed the train ride, look she's racing!

June at the Beach

We heard that a dear friend was coming our way to see her daughter's retirement, and thought it would be a good time to visit the beach since it was a two hour drive there. So we had lunch with Judy, (Coryn had slightly forgotten how to say her name so she became Sister Brownie that day) but they both love her still and Carter tried to make her 'grandma' when he saw me going through pictures to make the blog!
Here's one thing we never saw in the oceans around Okinawa... dolphins! It was pretty cool seeing them go up and down the coast, playing with some people in boats.
Poor Carter forgot how beach water moves, and spent a good half an hour being afraid of the water until I convinced him it was a fun game to pop the 'bubbles' of ocean froth.

They weren't allowed to go in the water because its jellyfish season, and we were on an Army post where safety is #1. But thats okay, they had way too much fun in the sand and chasing the crabs around.
Another fun to watch not seen by us before... pelicans. They fish so funnily! All graceful looking until they dive into the water, which isn't really a dive, more of a smack the water and don't go under, I'm surprised they manage to survive... :D

Dear Jane

An Ode to Jane

We've had a lot of fun, in two different countries no less.
Had meals in Japan, and home cooking (the best).
Got our toes done in lots of places, you always know where to go.
Even went to see Broadway... well, from Broadway shows.
The kids will always remember your transportation toys,
And the big kids glasses you let them enjoy.

Carter is trying to grab the cup that is under the table (reflection)

boxes...

Most of the rest of February consisted of emptying boxes, which made for quite a lot of fun for Coryn and his new friends because for quite a while we had a room fairly well devoted to empty boxes and paper...

Water Water Everywhere

Coryn used to be afraid of non-bath water, but mostly because it was usually cold. He doesn't seem to mind it now that a couple of hours in the sun warms his pool to bathwater temps. (the ocean's not bad either)

Here he's playing with the neighbor girl.
Awww... blackmail!
Dad certainly isn't afraid of the water.

He's dragon boat racing! Its an annual event which typically draws large crowds, but it was raining this year so it was still crowded, but without a few of the military people (not that the rain detered the racers).

The teams take turns on the three boats provided; other than that, I don't know too much about it, we left early (cranky Coryn hadn't had a nap yet). Its practically a fair though, carnival games, food stands, and two performance stages were some of the sights.
