January at the Beach

It was a gorgeous day to be at the beach (Torii to be particular)

Coryn asked to be buried in the sand.

He even went into the water up to his knees... so brave.

Carter loved it, he got in the water too and would have gone further if it hadn't been a little on the cold side (just the water, weather was perfect), he sat down in it a couple times but immediately stood up.

All in all it was a perfect beach adventure.

Tangarine Picking

Picturesque orchards... Harvesting fruit trees on a hill is challenging!
Coryn thinks so too, he's sad he can't get up the hill.

He had lots of fun anyway, and was able to get some of the tangarines off himself.

Carter tried too :) We came home with way too many tangarines and gave some to our neighbors.
The owner had a cute puppy!

Sakura Matsuri

Nothing says subtropical Japan like fern trees and cherry blossoms!
Or giant poinsetta bush...

Cherries, cherries, everywhere...

Decorating bridges...

made into icecream too!

Cherry Blossoms in Motobu

Kiyuna Farm

We went on one of the tours offered to a dairy farm in the north, they had goats, cows, pigs, cats, dogs, and even a couple of wild boars. The owner learned a lot of his farming skills in Nebraska (small world) and told us how they import bales of hay for the cows since they can't grow hay on Okinawa.
Coryn had fun trying to milk the cow. They put his hand in the stream of the other so he could feel how warm it was.

This little goat kept following everyone around.

After we saw the animals we got to make butter and eat it on homemade rolls sipping milk the farm made... they had boxes hung from the ceiling so you would know which ones to buy at the local store.

Other Fun Things with Dad

Ready for church... Coryn likes to make the angry face still.

Coryn and Daddy went on missions to 'get' the TV... it wasn't as much fun after the Christmas tree got taken down, but there's nothing like a good game of duck and cover.

Were you wondering if I would appear? Jackson and I went ice skating down in Naha for one of our dates.
We also went to the beach a couple of times and did other things, but I kept forgetting the camera, or to charge the batteries. It was a good R&R, but it went too quick.

Swording

One of Coryn's presents for Christmas was a set of foam swords... much better alternative to the drumstick sword or the car window shade (for baby) sword or the bat sword or the stick sword... Don't get me wrong, I don't condone the fighting, but if he's going to do it I would much rather it not be something that will cause bodily harm. (btw, Coryn tells me he's "bad" all the time when he sword fights or shoots with his nerf gun... he knows its not good but he also likes to do it so he's a bad guy a lot so that he can use the weapons)

Why is Dad chopping off his head?

Oh... I see

Krazy Kids

Practicing his new scooter, Carter on the loose!

Poor kid just got hit by a balloon gently floating by, there's nothing cooler than a giant net enclosed gym mat with copious amounts of balloons being blown around by a couple of fans!
Looks uncomfortable...

Hugs for the blinds... window blinds! (I'm really not a pun girl I swear)

Two super heroes at once?? Madness!

Presents in Use

Such joy on the face of someone about to "dead" me.
love the tools, the music in the tool box is a bit loud though

ball pit! yes, it looks like Coryn is kicking Carter out, but he's not...

yes, it looks like Coryn's about to bean Carter with a ball... and he is, but they don't hurt

nurse, scalpel

House of Pain (at least for Dad)

I don't think captions are really necessary... (no, they didn't really hurt him :) )

All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth...

Christmas Morning

Aww, precious... look who's up first!
First look at Santa's bounty.

Someone's still sleepy!
It was a good Christmas!
