Duty Station
Here is the latest Bracket I am doing (Oh, and for those who didn't see, Forrest Gump is apparently the greatest movie ever made, but my mom could have told us all that). This one is were Lisa and I should put in for our next duty station... enjoy.
Thank You One And All
I would just like to take a minute to thank everyone for all the support I have recieved during the course of my deployment. My supply sergeant SSgt Figueroa has said I have probably recieved more care packages than the rest of the team combined. I have felt the love and shared the wealth but it is time to say I'M GETTING READY TO COME HOME AND IT'S TIME TO STOP THE PACKAGES!!!!! If you're really inclined I'm sure the next team would be glad to enjoy my goodies for me but it's close to the time when there's not enough time to get what you're sending.
I can't wait to see you all in Boise in August! Thanks again for everything!

Oh My Poor Poor Kids
Thought I'd share a couple of rough times the kids had today...
This morning as we were headed out the door, there was a worm on the front porch (stoop?) trying to escape the recent rain. He was moving pretty actively for a worm on concrete so I pointed him out to Coryn. Coryn was very interested, but unfortunately we had to get going, so I told him it was time to go and not to step on the poor worm as a parting gift. Of course, Coryn just had to step on him a little bit out of curiosity which scared the bejeezes out of the worm which then proceeded to jump around like his life depended on it. Oh the screams! (I laughed... sorry Coryn!) Its not every day a kid gets scared by a jumping worm.
For dinner we went to the food court, subway for me, pizza for the kids... and we were all hungry and a bit cranky. Coryn was whinning and complaining of stomach pain, Carter was wanting to get down and run around, and I was trying to order their pizza... two cheese please... oh, only one cheese? fine, I'll take whatever you have... that one looks fine... chicken, yes. okay, set food down, get drink, highchair, kids situated, cut pizza for kids... everyone perking up. Suddenly from Carter, screams of pain! oh dear, did he bite himself? tooth pain? need a drink for something not entirely chewed but swallowed? after a bit of fussing, required holding, and pizza refusal, I notice that there isn't chicken pizza on the normal menu, but a limited time chipotle pizza!! First spicy burn... poor kid.
The day ended well though, after the pizza incident Carter was quite happily running around the food court making the Japanese ladies smile and we all shared a smoothie.

Not too much going on lately...
Happy Perfect Sky everyone! I got this way cute Japanese calendar for Coryn...
We celebrated the end of April with a trip to the beach. Carter doesn't care how cold the water is.
Then we celebrated Children's Day (May 5) with a trip to the library for cultural stories and a surprise Eisa performance! They let the kids join in, but my camera had issues and I didn't get a pic of him playing along...

He was very attentive though!
Carter on the other hand spent the whole time showing everyone his puppy, petting it, barking, and carrying it lovingly. His two favorite things right now are dogs and balls. If either is in the room he goes straight for it proclaiming loudly what it is he's after.
Coryn's reading and writing skills are coming along very well... we've recently acquired some 'homework' books which he loves. Mazes, math, alphabet... several are Kumon (a Japanese tutoring program that's getting big in the states).

Movie Madness, We Have A Final Four
We're getting down to the nitty gritty. Back to the Future was upset by Ocean's 11, Forrest Gump proved more popular than Indiana Jones, William Wallace proved no match for Heath Ledger's Joker and Neo and Morpheus took out Dr. Richard Kimball and the one armed man.
The next round is taking place here.

Movie Madness Round 4 Begins
It’s official. I have no idea how a winner is decided when a pairing each receive 50% of the vote. Last week The Matrix defeated Harry Potter 50% to 50% so I postulated that it was the lower seed that was given an upset in the event of a tie. This round, however the higher rated Ocean’s 11 got the victory over Saving Private Ryan even though both received 50% of the vote.
If I have to pick a biggest surprise this round I would say it was Back to the Future defeating Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. From the earlier round voting it looked like there was a possibility of seeing a Last Crusade/Raiders of the Lost Ark face off but it was not to be.
While there wasn’t any one movie that received 75% of the vote, The Dark Night continued it’s dominating was with 70%, its smallest margin of victory so far.
The next round of voting has already started. To vote, click here.
