Coryn's Harrowing Trip

By Jackson

Two days ago, Coryn turned two months old, and yesterday Lisa and I took him to see his doctor for his two month health and wellness checkup. The doctor's office was quite busy, but once we were finally able to get in we discovered that Coryn was now officially 23 1/4 inches long (still in the 70-75 percentile for his age), with a head of 40 cm (50 percentile) and weighing in at 11 lbs 12 oz (also the 50 percentile). All three of those measurements are nearly the exact same percentile group since birth and Dr. Davis said that if he stays on the same trend he will be 15 pounds at his four month check up.

After the doctor left, Dan (Lisa thinks its Dave... I think it's Dan) one of her medical assistants (that's the official title on his name badge) came in to give Coryn 3 inocculations! Now I'm pretty sure that Dan is Coryn's least favorite person in the whole world. When he was two weeks old Dan did Coryn's PKU test where he pricked his heel and had to "milk" blood out onto three circles on the PKU card. Dan says he loves his job but absolutly hates taking PKU blood samples. He was practically crying by the time he was done with Coryn (who was screaming). Now, at two months, Dan comes in to jab needles into Siege's thighs. After the first shot there was some protest from Coryn, after the second shot he was flat out crying and wasn't at all happy by the time we were finished. Dan again quickly retreated once his job was done, and will get to do it all over again when we visit in two months.

Coryn got a DTP, a Polio, a Hib, a PCV and his second Hep B. He did throw up all over Lisa's down blanket around 7:30 pm but that was about the only reaction he had. Other than that he was pretty happy on this day filled with such trauma!
